Staff Pick Notes

I have never a tequila quite like this. On the nose it seems like a raicilla: grassy with notes of straw and barnyard. That contrasts strikingly with the palate, which is bright and fresh and everything you would expect for from a Tequila from NOM 1414. Exceedingly well-made and complex, and at this price it's the least expensive pure sipper we have. Mostly what I mean by that is the complexity and nuance of this would be lost in a mixed drink. So while the price is nice, I would recommend drinking this straight or with just one ice cube.

Blanco

White tequila, an official type (tipo) for tequila bottled fresh from the still, or allowed to rest in stainless steel tanks for up to sixty days before bottling. It is never aged in wooden barrels. Also known as plata, plato, and silver tequila. Usually the most robust, strong-flavoured of the tequila types.
