The Malbec for this bold red wine comes from the Oak Knoll district in the south of Napa Valley. Winemaker Claire Ducrocq Weinkauf made a handful of barrels of this wine that will clearly age in the cellar as it has a great combination of fruit and power. The wine was aged in French oak (30% new) for 10 months before bottling.

This amazing Picayune Malbec 2018 has a deep fuchsia color and an exuberant nose of violet, ripe blackberries, and cassis with hints of mocha. On the palate, you will find more dark fruits with seductive truffle and dark chocolate notes. Juicy and fruit forward, this wine has a very appealing umami presence. You will love the texture of bold and firm tannins. It's so rich and intricate. Integrated oak and tannin allow the savory fruit to speak, finishing with an elegance of nutmeg and clove. Enjoy it with any red meat or hard cheese. What a beautiful Bordeaux blend made in the U.S. Cheers!
