Staff Pick Notes

This is a delicious wine from the Northern Rhône Valley. The estate has been owned by the same family for five generations, since 1909. In the past they used to sell their grapes to important producers in the area. Now they are working on their own wine. Jean Esprit and his wife Lydia focus about preserving the original terroir. They farm organically and respect biodiversity. They also plant cherries and apricots. Jean studied oenology in Bourgogne and gained experience working on the field all over the world. When sipping this delicious wine, you can enjoy berry notes such us blackberry and the typical spicy notes of Syrah. A long pleasant finish completes the experience!

Let it never be said, however, that Shiraz and Syrah are the same thing: the region in which the grape is grown determines much about the flavor of the wine it will produce. Typically, New World Shiraz yields bigger, fruitier wines than the the peppery Syrahs...
