We may be going out on a limb, but the annual limited releases from this distillery and its fellow stable mates of Tobermory, Ledaig and Bunnahabhain are some of the best Scotch Whiskies coming out these days. This one-off vintage release was drawn exclusively from spirit distilled in 2008 and aged for twelve years in first fill Oloroso Sherry Casks. The flavors are explosive with candied walnuts, preserved black cherries, treacle, allspice, toffee and deep seasoned oak. Bottled at cask strength with zero coloring or additives. Spectacular.

This style of Sherry is dark, rich, full-bodied and complex. Oloroso Sherries mature in cask for up to 25 years with no flor whatsoever, and are thus directly exposed to oxygen over a long period of time.
