Staff Pick Notes

I've gotta say it. I'm just not much of a Chardonnay girl. There's so much of it out there and sometimes it's simply hit or miss. But when it hits, it's a winner! Take, for example, this Marsannay Blanc from Domaine Bart. The appellation is more well known for Pinot Noir production and is the only AOP in Burgundy that allows a designated rosé. I think this adds to the exceptional nature of this bottling. Fresh apple on the nose and minerality on the palate. A hint of reductive winemaking and no new oak. Malolactic conversion is complete adding creamy texture. It's all the things I love about a well-made Bourgogne Blanc and affordable, too! If you are like me, this might be a bottle that wins you over.

It is a flexible, eager-to-please grape, responding well to just about anything a winemaker...
