Springbank Campbeltown Loch Blended Malt Scotch

700 mL
Item # 48145

An unexpected release that should surprise no one when you remember the importance of this great distiller, not just to the Whisky World, but to their local community in this corner of Scotland too. Hugely responsible for making sure Campbeltown didn't lose its historic status as a distinguished Scotch producing region, Springbank has largely been responsible for the current revival in the region. To create this special bottling, they've selected single malts from each distiller in the region, along with their own, and blended it for this impressive limited expression.

Staff Pick Notes

The Campbeltown Loch is a blend of malts from Springbank's three heralded distilleries: Springbank, Hazelburn, and Longrow. It drinks like a single malt as there is no grain in the blend. It comes to you at an affordable price. It is rich, dense, and complex. It shows a nose of peaty smoke, iodine, and stewed apples. Flavors of caramelized pecans, sea salt, and brown sugar delight the palate. We usually receive a few bottles of the Campbeltown Loch every few months, along with our tiny Springbank allocation. The Springbank single malt sells out within minutes. This will last a few days longer, and serves as a great consolation. Grab it when you see it.

With the Parliament’s passing of the “Excise Act” in 1824, licensing fees for distilleries were much cheaper. Distilleries started to take out licenses, and since then, the distillation industry in Scotland has been continuously expanding....
