Staff Pick Notes

The Humbrecht family has been making wine in the Alsatian village of Pfaffenheim since 1620. It is safe to say that they know what they are doing. In 1998, the estate received organic certification and in 1999, it received Biodynamic certification. The wine is natural and 100% clean. The bottle I’m writing about is 14 years past its vintage so it’s showing its beautiful age. It smells of grilled pineapple, lychee, brown sugar, and yellow flowers. The palate shows stewed apples, lychee, and a touch of clove. It has a lovely olive oil-like viscosity and slick mouthfeel. It’s off dry and all great! Enjoy with a soft ripened blue cheese.
