Glenallachie ‘Virgin Oak – 10 Year Spanish Cask’ Single Malt Whisky

Glenallachie ‘Virgin Oak – 10 Year Spanish Cask’ Single Malt Whisky

Item # 49459

Aged 10 years; primarily aged in ex-bourbon casks, the whisky was finished for 18 months in new Spanish oak hogsheads. This 10-year-old single malt from GlenAllachie’s Virgin Oak Series obtains its spicy, treacly flavors from secondary maturation in hogsheads made of Spanish oak. Sourced from the regions of Galicia and Asturias—specifically from the cool, humid forests of the Cantabrian Mountains—the oak was air-dried for around 18 months, then toasted and charred to a medium level. The secondary aging in these virgin casks imparts an influence rich with dried fruits, maraschino cherries, and hints of ginger.
