Sourced from an historic producer on the far northern viking island of Orkney in July of 2006, this whisky was aged for 16yr in a single 1st fill Spanish Oak Oloroso Barrel prior to being bottled at cask strength. The coastal and Island malts tend like this one tend to have the capacity to draw on the full spectrum of Scotch flavors without falling out of balance. Add to that the dialed up impact the potent cask strength abv delivers here and you've got one special dram on your hands.
