Twenty years ago no one was making Timorasso. Thank goodness several small winemakers decided to change that as it makes one of the greatest white wines in the world! This bottling shows the grape at its best, possessing almost a full decade of age and beauty. It spends an insane nine years in neutral barrique, and this age did wonders to develop its waxy, round texture and signature notes of juicy pear, honey, and hazelnut. For fans of aged white Burgundy (think Puligny-Montrachet) or Chenin Blanc (hints of a Nicolas Joly Savennières here as well), this wine is exceptionally delicious. Made by the famed Barbaresco estate Cascina Baricchi using the best old vine Timorasso from a friend's vineyard in Tortona (over 70 year old vines), this bottle contains everything you love about aged white wine. Timorasso is finally becoming cool!
