The difficulty in creating truly great aged tequilas is highly overlooked. For generations, and sadly still too often today, the quality of barrels used and the attention to the aging process left us with an array of tequilas that were hard to make sense of. Other times, the oak influence was simply too great and the agave qualities themselves totally lost. Finding the balance between the two is where the magic happens. And that is what makes this otherwise unassuming anejo so special. Made from the hands of Master Felipe Camarena, you are already beginning with some of the best tequila money can buy. But for the aging process everything is taken a step further with only hand selected first-fill American, French & German Oak casks used adding a subtle yet kaleidescopic array of flavors. The extremely thoughtful slightly higher bottling proof is the cherry on top. Very limited.
