Olivier Bellanger grew up in the Loire and started his adventures in wine in the 2000s when he, for 8 years, worked at various domaines until he got the opportunity to buy his first vineyard. Pair with crispy, pan-fried fish.

When people first learn about Pineau d’Aunis, their assumption is it's related to Pinot Noir. The mistake is understandable: both varieties grow in the cool, eastern Loire, are vinified in a light-bodied style, and pair well with a range of spicy and savory foods. That said, Pineau d’Aunis has no genetic link to Pinot Noir but is quickly gaining favor with Pinot fans. One such advocate is Olivier Bellanger, a young winemaker growing the variety on 8 hectares of vineyards near his native village in Thesée. Mon Tout Rouge, his homage to Pineau d’Aunis, is a beautiful expression of the variety: aromas of white pepper and cherry give way to a light, peppery, and bright palate that’s as refreshing as it is unexpected. Mon Tout is perfect spring wine - structured, but equally good with a chill. Who needs Pinot Noir anyway?!?
