It was the label that made me pick up the bottle, but what was in the glass is what convinced me. This blend of Chenin Blanc and a small amount of Viognier, macerated on the skins for seven days, shows a side of orange wine that I really enjoy. On the nose, I found dried herbs, chamomile and tea, followed by dried peach and apricot, citrus peel and a touch of almond. The palate is soft and textured, focused more on mouthfeel than freshness, with the skin contact adding complexity without becoming heavy. An original and well-balanced orange wine, perfect to enjoy with a jazz record playing in the background and nothing much to think about.
