Mezcasiarca Astor Select Espadin Single Batch Mezcal - 2021

This is the bottle that redefined Espadin for me. When farmed with care, I promise you it is up there with the greatest agave you can experience. Often overlooked due to the decision to mass cultivate this species by the large brands, it can get lost in the sea of "rarer" agave. But this batch from Sandra yielded only 22 liters and combines everything that Espadin is capable of achieving when given the respect it deserves. Dense fruit, bright minerality, clay distilled depth of character and a supremely long finish are all part of the experience. Factor in the traditional cowhide ferment, and further maturation in glass for 4 years, every little detail can be felt. The custom labels are also extra special works of art that come from wood carvings within Sandra's estate. Just amazing!
