Cognac is too often treated as a monolith when in fact the diversity is staggering, from the range of crus it is made it, the thousands of independent growers in the region producing it and the countless ways to age and blend. The story of this cognac is tangible in the flavors you will taste in the glass and it likely is one that you've never encountered before. Made by a humble family of sawyers, who for generations have lived on the border of the cognac region closer to Armagnac than anything else. Living in the forest and making small amounts of artisan cognac as part of their tradition the flavors of there unique approach and the deeply wooded terroir of their home make this brandy completely unforgettable - almost like a Frankenstein Cognac-Armagnac hybrid. Bottled exclusively for us after tasting it out of cask in the Grosperrin cellars in Saintes, and after 33 years of aging. Bottled at a natural cask strength with a total yield of only 42 liters. Absolutely zero additives. Notes include broad oak spices, tarte tatin, pistachio infused milk chocolate, coconut and creme brulêe.
