The Elijah Craig label itself launched in 1986 and this circa 1993 bottle made for the Japanese market, situates it in the early era for what was nearly an instant classic brand and more importantly it means that the whiskey comes from Pre-Fire (1996) Heaven Hill whiskey stocks - extremely highly sought after stuff. The EC from this era too has been noted to have a generally more concentrated profile full of flavors of stewed fruits, spicy toasted oak, old sherry, cream custard and vanilla.
