It makes sense that it was all leading to this. After spending the past decade creating some of the most thoughtful, vital and delicious liqueurs and spirits at their lab in Brooklyn - spirits that have kindly helped us all improve our cocktail game - it makes sense that we have a single batch that brings all their expertise together in one bottle. A cocktial that beguiles many with its simple recipe but hard to master execution this is a negroni to end all negronis. Very limited one-off release.

Ready-to-drink cocktails are destined to disappoint, with results that range from off-balance to completely undrinkable. That’s why, to my great surprise, the Forthave Negroni Single Batch Five not only clears the RTD bar, but ranks among the better bar-made negronis I’ve had recently. The main reason for this is the ingredients: Forthave BLUE Gin, Red Aperitivo, and a custom vermouth made from a blend of Finger Lakes region wine, distilled wine, and Forthave’s sweet vermouth. A portion of the final product is then aged for 6 months in cask before being blended back in with the rest of the batch that’s been resting in stainless steel tanks. The result is both rich and bright, with notes of dried Seville orange peel, hyssop, mace, angelica root, and chamomile. Sip over ice at a picnic, concert, or at home while savoring time saved.
