There are some days that I get home from work and all I want to do is dig into a nice Rotisserie chicken and wash it down with a deliciously rounded, scrumptiously balanced white wine. Of course I'm not looking to break the bank though. That's where the Le Cigare Blanc enters the frame, from Bonny Doon. I can't get enough of this wine. Coming from the Central Coast of California, and a blend of Grenache blanc and Verminto, this wine boasts luscious tropical fruit that never succumbs to over-ripeness, with a delicate floral quality. This is one of my go-to week nights, and as long as we keep it in stock, I'm keeping my chiller full.

The Grenache grape (a.k.a. Grenache Noir) produces relatively pale, fruity red wines that often stop just short of sweetness. Grenache is familiar to most wine drinkers as an ingredient in the blends of the Rhône and Languedoc-Roussillon, where it can add charm to varieties that are a little rougher around the edges.
