Made from 20 to 40 year old vines of Pinot Blanc and its cousin, Pinot Auxerrois. Full-bunch pressing followed by an indigenous fermentation. Aged on the lees in oak for 15 months before bottling. A vinous, dry yet gorgeous and densely fruity wine of pedigree.

Nestled in the foothills of the Vosges mountains is where you will find the estate of esteemed wine producer, Marc Kreydenweiss. He boasts over 30 years of bio-dynamic wine making. The estate trots along the bleeding edge of Andlau, Alsace, halfway between Strasbourg and Colmar. It's continental climate brings forth this kaleidoscopic ambiguity of complimentary terroirs. I adore this 20-40 year old vine Pinot Blanc, surprisingly aged on the lees in oak for 15-mos, this may be an oakey Chardonnay's delightful, mysterious cousin you desperately hope to meet. Sans a bold presence of oak detected, what I found more so was true nuance and a sense of chicness, after all we are talking Grand Cru Alsace. Drink ever so slightly chilled and upgrade any semblant thought of a Chasselas and pair w. your next Swiss Bleuchâtel with Gruyère fondue.

Located on the eastern border of France, on the west bank of the Upper Rhine, adjacent to Germany and Switzerland, Alsace represents the intersection of two wholly different wine cultures that have given birth to a third.
