If you tell me that you don't like Riesling because it's "too sweet," I'll bet you haven't tasted enough Riesling. Donnhoff’s 2021 Tonschiefer Riesling is one that will convert you. In Germany, 2021 gave the vines dry weather with moderate temperatures. This resulted in wines of crispness, freshness, and elegance. As soon as you pour, you’ll note subtle aromas of freshly cut fruit such as mangoes, nectarines, and limes. The palate will confirm this fresh fruit and add a note of mouth-cleansing acidity. You’ll also feel a sensation of river stones. This is all integrated into a dry, laser-like focus. The estate is currently run by 3rd and 4th-generation Helmut and Cornelius Donnhoff. The grapes are sourced from Donnhoff’s original Oberhauser Leistenberg vineyard (one of 10 Donnhoff sites). Serve with Burrata and fresh peaches.
