Named after the village of Mainqué where the Chacra vineyards are planted, this Chardonnay is a collaboration between Jean Marc Roulot and Piero Incisa Della Rocchetta. Fermented in barrel without malolactic, spending 11 months in barrique, this has an up-front fruit, a salinity and a tasty finish lent by the calcareous components of the alluvial soil.

The southernmost wine growing region in South America has been making waves as a top locale for growing serious Pinot Noir. It's not surprising that Pinot's bff Chardonnay would also be a standout there. The founder of Bodega Chacra, Piero Incisa della Rochetta (grandson of the legendary creator of Sassicaia), first tasted Patagonian Pinot Noir at a blind tasting in 2001 and knew he needed to start making his own. He traveled to Rio Negro in Patagonia and found an old vineyard with ungrafted vines planted in 1932, thus Chacra was born. For his Chardonnay, Piero collaborates with Jean-Marc Roulout who brings his finesse and tension from Meursault to this wine. It is vibrant and exciting.
