Again venturing into parts unknown, refusing to repeat themselves or make an average anything, for their straight all purpose vodka, St. George takes their un-aged pear brandy made from California-grown Bartlett pears and rectifies it to 95.1% ABV, taking out nearly all of the pear character but leaving a lush, plump, round soft texture in place. Clean, seamless, and multi-purpose, this is really great vodka.

If you've been looking for a vodka with a little more character, I'd urge you to try this bottling from St. George in California, one of the best and most important distilleries in the craft movement. The base for this vodka is actually mostly local Bartlett pears, the same that go into the distillery's fabulous eau-de-vie, but distilled up to 95.1% and filtered, then proofed down to a more palatable 40%. The resulting spirit has a fuller body and a wonderful texture that you don't find anywhere else in the category. You'll get some lightly fruity and floral notes but a classic nose: clean, refreshing, with amazing purity. Most vodkas do their best to fade into the background, with neutrality as their highest aim. But St. George's is one that you can put center stage. The more vodka-forward your cocktail, the more it shines.
