This is Cru Beaujolais at another level! Yohan Lardy, a 5th generation vigneron in Beaujolais, has crafted this bottling from a 2 acre selection of original vine plantings within the Les Michelons vineyard dating from 1903! These are head trained vines grafted to low yielding rootstocks that today, given the age of the vines, produce miniscule yields with a very intense concentration. The Moulin-à-Vent Cru is nicknamed "The Lord of Beaujolais wines" due to its cellar worthy pedigree, and this wine most definitely lives up to that standard. Bold, layered red and dark fruits, violets in bloom, and an earthy spice dominate the senses in this remarkable bottle. Be sure to let it open over the course of an evening!
