Zlatan Otok, White Cuvée - 2023

All four varieties found in this wine are incredibly old indigenous Dalmatian grapes that date back to the 4th century BC. This indigenous blend is a unique contribution to wines of Dalmatian terroir and each grape brings its own character to the wine. I feel a Chardonnay purist from any region would be excited to discover what is possible with incorporating blends of lesser explored grapes which offers similar butteriness. Otok bears a straw-golden color with a denseness and minerality that leaves a memorable finish, longer and less acidic than expected, with a slightly savory feel. This wine has a mouthfeel which is exceedingly soft, echoing the delicate nature of its aromatics including dried flowers, fig, and melon. It’s a bright white and will find a friend in anyone who appreciates a lighter style wine.
