Tasting Notes

Quite a different style of Barbera and a Superiore that the Filippo Gallino winery just started making in 2004. Very gourmand on the palate in the sense this tastes much more serious and has a greater extraction of fruit and tannin. Aged a couple of years in mostly used French oak casks. If you're a fan of unctuous, overtly fruited reds with structure, give this a try. The Filippo Gallino estate is located in the Roero area of Piedmont and has been making wine for seven generations.
