This Chianti comes from the Colli Fiorentini region just east of Siena and is made from a blend of Sangiovese and Colorino grapes. Aged for nearly a year in older oak barrels and then a further half year in bottle before release. A red wine with equal parts finesse and structure. A natural companion to pasta.

As the name suggests, Colorino is prized for the deep color it adds to wines; it's capably of providing some sturdy tannins as well. It has long been an ingredient in Chianti.
