Pinot Blanc is not one of the most well known grapes in the world but it is certainly respected. This wine comes from the Nahe region in Germany. The river that gives the name to this region, descends through it and helps moderating the climate, creating also several microclimates along the valley. Some of these are similar to the warmer Mediterranean climate. This factor contributes to the fruitness and body of the wines of Nahe. This one in particular has fresh floral aromas and fruit flavors such as apple and pear. A hint of smokiness and some minerality can be noticed too. It's an expressive wine that shows balance. I would pair it with white meat and grilled fish.
