Could a spirit be traditionally artisanal, terroir driven,aged, natural and free of additives or anything artificial? Even proposing these questions only a handful of years ago would be relatively unthinkable, but to have spirits like these now that also deliver some of the most profound drinking experiences and levels of quality that are seldom surpassed represents a fundamental shift in the world of spirits. This extraordinary rum was made from the intentely terroir driven local cane of Saint Michel de l'Attalaye and distilled and aged (still extremely rare for clairins) in a combination of rum and single malt scotch casks prior to bottling at cask strength. The purity and concentration of flavor is quite simply unmatched by anything else we have tasted in this category. Limited.
