Jaen is more commonly known as Mencía in neighboring Spain, but it does very well in the Dão's cooler mountainous climate. Supple, lithe, and medium-bodied, Quinta do Perdigão's bottling exhibits dark fruit and medium structure. Time in bottle has mellowed this, and it is drinking exceptionally well. Pair with duck confit and arroz de grelos.
