Tximista Bianco Vermouth

Most people who are at all familiar with Basque beverages will likely know either the region's famously funky ciders or the highly energetic table wines known as Txakoli (red, white, and rose). But what the world didn't know, until now, was Basque Vermouth. Tximista, Basque for "lightning" is truly a bolt of energy and unique from its peers, be they Spanish, French, or Italian. Using white Txakoli wine as its base and fortified with local grape pomace brandy, there is a lift of acidity here you won't find in other vermouth styles. Drink on the rocks with a splash of soda and a peel of citrus, or do the right thing and mix a martini with 2 parts Spanish gin to 1 part Tximista and a dash of orange bitters.
