Staff Pick Notes

Finca Suarez's history goes back 100 years and spans five generations in the same family, all beginning in 1921 when Leopoldo Suarez first chose the land for his vineyards in Altamira that would still be thriving a century later. Winemakers around the world revere Leopoldo for his scientific contributions and his early adoption of practices that are now considered the standard (such as regenerative farming and consideration of soil). Leopoldo, who studied oenology in Italy and France, was a big believer that Semillon is the Mendoza's best white table wine. After tasting this white blend of 80% Chard and 20% Semillón, I have to say I agree with him! I loved the balance between minerality from the stoney soil, as well as the elegant stone fruit and floral notes - perfect for a summer table wine just as Leopoldo intended!

It is a flexible, eager-to-please grape, responding well to just about anything a winemaker...
