Magnum Series #2 Beenleigh 8 Year Rum - 2015

This special, limited edition series brings together the fine art of photography through the work of pioneering photo agency Magnum Photos, and the art of distillation via a one-off selection of some of the finest and most artisanal spirits in the world. For series two the work featured are original creations from Alex Webb, an agency photographer since 1979. An overlooked almost mythic distillery with very old roots dating back to the 1880s, this distiller is situated in a climate that is as pristine and made for rum making as any in the world. Traiditonal, artisan practices and well rounded deeply felt rums are the rule with their famous combination of column still and second distillation in an old copper pot still accounting for a part of the unmistakable Beenleigh character. The generous notes include fresh apple, honey, lemongrass, white peach, cinnamon and nutmeg.
